This heartfelt letter was penned in response to a ‘Think With Owliver‘ cohort-session during which our young participants deliberated on Owliver’s article that reported on America’s gun laws in light of the recent shooting in the New York’s subway. Respected Sir, With regard to the recent shooting incident of Nikolas Cruz, I hope the politicians of Florida will understand how access to guns is misused. The right to bear arms for the citizens may result in the arms falling into the wrong hands and incidents like this happening. But America is an honorable country! Even if the citizens have valid documents for buying guns, these citizens could sell those guns to criminals/potential criminals in the black market. Thus, criminals could use these guns, and incidents like this could happen. The owners of these guns could give them to their children and again these incidents could occur. But America is an honorable country! America is a free and safe nation, and it is one of the most powerful countries in the world. It calls itself the greatest. Yet, it feels its citizens need the safety of guns. But America is an honorable country! So I request you to restrict the usage of guns. Guns should be restricted to only regions of dispute, the police, the military, and other organizations which ensure the safety of the people. Thanks, Anonymous
