Fully Filmy, Book Binge
This week’s recommendation is not just a movie, but a book too! Narrated in hilarious rhyme, the tale of the grumpy Grinch is surprisingly full of holiday cheer. When the Grinch stole Christmas, he forgot to steal the best gift of all: a roaring fun time.
A little about about the green man himself
Well, the story goes something like this. Deep in the mountains, the Who’s live in a cheery town called Whoville. Right outside Whoville, however, lives one grumpy man, the Grinch. And every year, he tries to suck the joy out of Christmas. He hates jubilation and innocence, but most of all, the Grinch hates revelry. Why?
Everyone is terrified of the man, or whatever he is, perhaps a What? They all live in fear that he’ll inflict their lovely Whoville with his monstrous ways. However, when the Grinch comes down to terrify the residents of Whoville, one little girl, Cindy Lou Who, who’s doubting the Yuletide spirit herself, isn’t convinced. Lou Who realizes that this odd green hairy monster is quite an emotional wimp. He isn’t terrifying at all. In fact, he even has a rather valid point about Christmas.
Watch and Read as Cindy Lou Who braves the side-splitting spooky hairy Grinch played by the even more rib-tickling Jim Carrey in the 2000 film, to reach his Christmas spirit. Or rather, kick back and relax as The Grinch braves Cindy Lou Who and the heebie-jeebies of Christmas.
You can read Dr. Suess’ book on Amazon, and stream the film on Netflix. And, if you still haven’t had enough of the Grinch you can always watch the 2019 remake: The Grinch which is also on Netflix.
