India recorded 95,753 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, which brought the total number of cases to 4.5 million. The country now has the second highest number of cases in the world and follows the USA, which is at 6.3 million.
The Ministry of Health released a statement that the increase in cases is because of an increase in testing. India is currently conducting around 1 million tests a day. But experts warn that this is a sign of the infection spreading to smaller towns and villages where access to healthcare is often an issue.
